Gracey 11/12 is area specific curette used for subgingival debridement of mesial surfaces of upper and lower premolars and molars.
After identification of the cutting edge, curette is inserted into the pocket and vertical strokes are used for calculus removal. The terminal shank should remain parallel with the tooth surface during debridement to achieve maximum efficacy.
Intraoral and/or extraoral finger rest may be used for stabilization of the instrument.
